General Terms and Conditions

-Covid

Meeting in person is reviewed regularly at this time due to the situation with Covid. Lessons may move online at short notice. 

Masks may be necessary so please be ready to wear one if asked. These will be provided.

Each person entering the home must wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds in the facilities provided.

Regular Covid testing is encouraged (just like at school).

 

-Fees

Fees are payable at the end of each session via online banking.

Fees are inclusive of the usual use of teaching and learning resources. 

Fees include unlimited access to an online reading and spelling portal as required. 

At times it may be necessary for the parent or carer to purchase books etc for their child’s learning. I will give as much notice of this as possible.

If lessons are to take place in your home the fee is increased to take into account the time taken to travel to and from your home. 

 

-Cancellations & Schedule Changes

Cancellations made by the student more than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson will not incur any charge.
Cancellations made between 4 and 48 hours before the lesson will incur a 50% charge if the session cannot be rescheduled.
For cancellations made with less than 4 hours’ notice, or for no-shows, the full lesson fee is due.

All cancellations must be communicated in writing via email or WhatsApp. For last-minute changes (less than 4 hours’ notice), a phone call is also required.

Any changes to the usual schedule should be emailed to
parents@gentlelearning.co.uk and office@gentlelearning.co.uk.
Please note: If changes are not confirmed in writing, a 100% cancellation fee may still apply.

We aim to be understanding and will review exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out if you need to discuss your circumstances.

I will endeavour to give as much notice as possible if I need to cancel or otherwise reschedule a lesson. I will inform you in advance of holiday dates etc.

There is a two week notice period if you wish to end using the service. 

-Keeping in touch

I will give a brief update to you as the parent at the end of each session. 

My preferred method of communication at other times is between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday via email or text 07946 348 191. WhatsApp is also fine. I believe in us working together to help your child. You are the parent and know them best, so please feel free to arrange a longer chat if you need to discuss a particular issue. 

 

If working remotely, please endeavour to scan the students' work and send it to me by the morning of their session. 

Please allow your child to complete any learning tasks independently so I can see areas that need further in-depth teaching and experience.
