As well as offering one-to-one tuition, I also offer small group activities for children who are home educated and after school. These groups teach specific skills, such as telling the time, as well as so-called "soft skills" like emotional regulation.

Touch, Type, Read and Spell
We at Gentle Learning Support are very proud to be working with TTRS (Touch Type Read and Spell) as part of their affiliate programme.
Touch Typing is a vital tool for many of our students, especially as they navigate secondary school and are asked to produce longer pieces of writing.
We encourage you to read all about TTRS and their award-winning, multi-sensory approach that teaches typing, reading and spelling all at the same time. And don’t forget to sign up here!

We’ve created a three-part journey, with each part lasting five weeks, designed especially for KS4 and KS5 students who want to strengthen their foundation for learning. These are online sessions for 14-18 year old students who are working towards GCSEs, A Levels, or other qualifications. They are delivered over 5 weeks each term. Over the course of the sessions, we’ll help students:
Develop emotional regulation skills to support learning
Strengthen executive functioning, including organisation, planning and focus
Learn effective study techniques that make a difference
This is done by linking each new skill to the learning and workload of each individual student. So, for example, they practice study skills with their own topics, revision skills with their own exam questions and emotional regulation with their real life pressures.
A specialist skills group to support children with their learning needs.
This will be a small group, with a maximum of 4 students, that will meet in person at our Gentle Learning Classroom. Each session will follow a carousel model and will include the following:
One-to-one reading, Touch Typing, SNIP Spelling, Word Shark
Each group is £24 per session and will run for 6 weeks per half term, costing £144 each half term.
This maths group will include up to three students who are at a similar stage in their maths journey. The maths group will assist in their progression and here is why:
The group will have a maximum of three students, allowing for intimate working, as well as learning and building from each other
The students will benefit from working collaboratively, talking and learning together, which is proven to accelerate learning and offer more opportunities for independent revelations.
Students will be able to explain their reasoning to one another, deepening their understanding.
Each student is at a similar level, and so I can continue to offer appropriate learning and support.
This group is aimed at students aged 12-14 and is just £24 per session, £144 for the 6-week block.
Science Club offers a weekly opportunity for children to find out about the world around them with hands on experiments and investigations. Each 5 week course will have a different theme, such as Crime Scene Investigation, Growing Green Plants, Fun Fair Forces, and Electricity.
Each group has maximum of 6 students and is aimed at 8-14 years olds. The cost for the 5 week course is £132 per child.

We will look at how our brain views our world through our senses and in turn what our bodies do to react.
We will learn what makes us feel different emotions and how to get along with each other.
Every emotion is important and valid and we can learn to respect them all.
This group is aimed at students aged 8-12. and is £78 per 5 week course.
This 6 week course aims to teach students how to tell the time in a multisensory way, using their prior knowledge and making it as practical as possible. We will use their own daily routines, practice clocks, digital games and paper and pencil learning to build up the knowledge and confidence of each student.
Telling the Time is a 5 week course costing £84 per child per course.
