Summer Workshops - 2026

Each year, the summer workshops become more popular, and many of these are returning with more activities to provide a more in-depth experience.

The workshops take place in the Lewisham/Greenwich area and run during the first two weeks of the summer holidays. Each activity is an hour, and multiple workshops can be booked for each child. They run in weekly blocks, allowing you to work around your summer holiday plans.

All workshops are delivered by me, a qualified teacher with more than 20 years of experience, and can be booked directly below.

In our Summer Workshop for week 2 we have three in-depth sessions including:

What is Autism

What is ADHD

Emotional Regulation for Learning.

We also have Lego for Learning at the end of each day and Science Club on our Fourth and final day.

Full Summer Workshop - Week 1
from £62.40

Each day of the week follows the same pattern.

You can attend individual whole days, weekly activities or the whole week. For example, you can come all week for Lego for £50, or all week for spelling and times tables for £90. You can also come on just Monday for £78.

Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 9:50 - 3:30 each day.

Each day includes all activities below, and plenty of breaks, so bring a packed lunch for a whole day of fun learning.

WEEK ONE - Monday 3rd August - Friday 7th August 2026

Emotional Regulation for Learning
from £80.00

A workshop to support your child in how they connect with their learning. This workshop will teach them what is happening for them when they find learning challenging and will support them with practical strategies they can take away and use in the classroom and beyond.

Science Club
from £105.00

A crime has taken place. Jeremiah’s treasure has been stolen, and it is up to us to follow the clues to find the culprit. Help us decipher clues, including fingerprint analysis, chromatography, footprint casting, and forensic graphology.

SNIP Spelling practice
from £42.50

SNIP is a multisensory spelling scheme developed by two dyslexia specialist teachers. It works on the 100 keywords (now known as common exception words or tricky words). You know, the ones like what and where, they and there, or said and laugh, which either look the same as one another, or do not look at all how they sound.

It is an automatic assessment tool and intervention. There are 9 words in each set, and 5 multisensory activities to complete for any words or groups of words that are difficult for your child. These activities are short and follow the little-and-often principle to bring new learning from your child's working memory into their long-term memory.

These summer sessions are a great opportunity to plug those gaps in spelling knowledge and give your child some confidence moving forward.

Monday 3rd - Friday 7th August 2026 at 10:50-11:30 each morning.

Learn to Touch Type
from £42.50

These sessions will be teacher-led and provide an introduction to TTRS, a touch-typing scheme designed to support spelling and typing. It supports children and young people who find handwriting difficult, as typing takes less physical effort than writing, and so stamina from written tasks increases. It also aids spelling through its carefully structured progression. Your child or young person will need to bring along their laptop, or they can borrow a GLS laptop for the sessions.

You will receive a 20% discount on your own TTRS subscription, or you can subscribe through GLS at a discounted rate. This option includes a £1.50 weekly fee in addition to the session fee.

Your child can continue to practice touch typing at home, and can join the term-time classes in September. I can monitor their progress virtually, and we can book regular check-ins.

Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 10am-10:40 each morning.

Maths
from £42.50

These activities will teach your child how to use active memorising techniques to learn those tricky times tables. Towards the end of the week, we will use the tables in practical situations, such as fractions and calculating area, so they can experience their practical applications.

The memorisation techniques can also be used in other situations, such as learning names, facts, music, or anything.

Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 11:40 - 12:20 each day.

Handwriting
from £42.50

Join us this summer for a series of five engaging handwriting workshops designed to develop fine motor skills, improve letter formation, and enhance overall writing fluency in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Fun activities, games, and personalised guidance, will help participants to gain confidence in their handwriting abilities while making new friends.

The workshops are suitable for all skill levels and aim to foster a positive attitude towards writing.

Reserve your child's spot today.

The workshops take place in the Lewisham / Greenwich area and run from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 12:50 - 1:20pm each day. They are delivered by Jane, a teacher with more than 20 years experience.

Wordshark
from £42.50

Word Shark is an online learning platform that supports learning spelling and reading. It is dyslexia-friendly, which means it is designed to a high standard for all learners. Your child can have fun while learning topic words, school spellings, or brushing up on any gaps. You can sign up through Gentle Learning, and your child can continue to use Word Shark as a learning tool at home for a small monthly fee.

Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 3pm - 3:30 each afternoon.

*A registration fee is required to sign-up to Word Shark, and a monthly subscription of £6.

Group Reading Activities
from £42.50

The group reading activities will focus on comprehension skills. There are many aspects of comprehension:

  • Inferring the author's meaning in the text

  • Predicting what might happen next, based on the events in the story, and their knowledge of other stories

  • Learning new vocabulary

  • Explaining what is happening in the story

  • Retrieving information from the text to show their understanding

  • Comparing characters and settings within the story with other known characters and settings

  • Summarising the story so far

  • Sequencing the events of a story

  • Creating art or writing opportunities based on what has been read.

We will focus on inferring, as this is an aspect of reading that many children can struggle with. After that, we will look at building vocabulary and creating writing opportunities, while also covering the other areas through question-and-answer sessions.

The book choice will be made nearer the time, and based on the age and stage of the children who sign up.

Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 1:30 - 2:10 each afternoon.

Lego for Learning
from £42.50

I have trained in both Lego therapy and Six Bricks, and I have devised these Lego for Learning sessions to support children’s communication and teamwork skills in a neuroaffirming way. There will be individual challenges, team quests and co-operative builds. Last year we built bridges, houses, thrones and towers. We expanded our vocabulary and laughed out loud while we created new words to describe bricks and positioning.

In week two, LEGO for Learning is included as an added extra each day, or can be booked separately.

Study & Thrive - An Online Study Group for KS4 & KS5
Sale Price: £100.00 Original Price: £125.00

We’ve created a three-part journey, with each part lasting five weeks, designed especially for KS4 and KS5 students who want to strengthen their foundation for learning. These are online sessions for 14-18 year old students who are working towards GCSEs, A Levels, or other qualifications. They are delivered over 5 weeks each term. Over the course of the sessions, we’ll help students:

  • Learn effective study techniques that make a difference

  • Strengthen executive functioning, including organisation, planning and focus

  • Develop emotional regulation skills to support learning

This is done by linking each new skill to the learning and workload of each individual student. So, for example,  they practice study skills with their own topics, revision skills with their own exam questions and emotional regulation with their real life pressures.

Autumn Term: A Foundation for Learning (5 weeks)

This term will serve as an introduction to the Study & Thrive program, focusing on foundational study skills. Students will be equipped with practical tools to organize their work, manage their time, and approach their studies effectively.

Spring Term: Mastering Executive Functioning (5 weeks)

Building on the autumn foundation, this term will delve deeper into executive functioning skills. The focus will be on the cognitive processes that are essential for planning, problem-solving, and self-control.

Summer Term: Emotional Regulation for Exam Success (5 weeks)

This final term will be the culmination of the program, directly addressing the pressure of exams. The focus will be on emotional regulation to help students remain calm, focused, and resilient during this high-stakes period.
